Multi-Modal Overview

For my third writing project this semester, I will be explaining how I created this WIX website. Currently a sophomore, I've never made a website like this before. The only "website" that I've made was when I used HTML code my senior year of high school to create a page that said "Hi." I wasn't sure how exactly I wanted my website to look and I still feel like the layout can be modified a bit to look better for WP1, but I think for my first time building a website it looks pretty decent.

To start off, I chose the recommended Demi Watson interior design pallet. I chose this website structure as it seemed easy to understand and edit, and it fits how I had envisioned what my website would look like. After choosing the template, I then had to figure out where to put what was needed for my website. Having the tabs up on the top that label what each page is for helps to navigate what people are looking at.

Throughout my editing, I noticed that my pages looked blank and boring without images or pull-out quotes, so I added those. This first image is of my documentary review before I added the additional items. The second image is of my immersion experience before the add-ons. It's also before I edited my writing and expanded more on what exactly my immersion experience consisted of.

Adding hyperlinks was beneficial to the WIX page as it gives viewers the opportunity to look at sources I used or expand more upon what I'm discussing. It provides more information. I made sure to add three hyperlinks to each page as to provide this extra information for those viewing my site.

For the photos and hyperlinks, I arranged them so they would draw attention to the parts of my writing that I thought would be most important. Emphasizing the importance of certain parts of my writing can create a bigger impact or help people grasp a better understanding of what I'm saying. For the immersion experience, showing the layout of Joule Bug helps readers to get a better idea of what I'm describing.

Throughout the semester, I have added different parts to my ePortfolio which has helped it grow into a proper website, not just some pages with items on it. This has been an exciting project that I've had to do this semester and I'm glad I was able to partake!
